has anyone worked in a fast food restaurant?

^^ please share your experiences. I am debating whether to work at a fast food restaurant or take a summer class.

I live in a wendys with some crackheads in the bathroom.

my opinion take a summer class...worked at a pizza place for a week and hated it. my dad said it would be an eye-opening experience and it was. will NEVER go back

well I work at a "quick-service" restaurant now (Chick-Fil-A doesn't want to be called fast food lol)...I actually really like the job...I mean of course we have some rude customers every now and then but overall the job is great...of course we have some spoiled children who work there too who complain all of the time...but it's really not that bad...I say take the job...you need some work experience

Quote: "of course we have some spoiled children who work there too who complain all of the time"

If you're not spoiled like I am then you'll be fine

i didnt want to work at a fast food restaurant b/z i knew id eat everything- then id be fat and depressed

I think everyone should work in the food service industry at some point in their life. It is hard , honest work and it is eye opening for privledged youth to learn that there are folks who must do this sort of work to earn their living and they barely get by.

Had my son work at a fast food joint and then he read "Nickeled and Dimed"---many good lessons learned

how can it be hard? I know that I have to be moving pretty quickly to fill orders, but what else is there? btw, I might consider doing both.

I would never work in a fast food place.

I rather work in a more... sophisticated environment during high school.

I don't do that sort of stuff and I thank God I don't have to.

I worked at a pizza place for a while as cashier. Good thing i didn't have to be in the kitchen, but I still had to clean a few dishes and mop the floor. Definitey not recommended. I like working as a stocker at Home Depot. Its more physical work, but its a lot more enjoyable than dealing with moron co workers.

i just started working at a fast food place on monday (potbelly sandwiches) and i dont think it will last for very long even though the pay is higher than other places (8/hr). Im going to start looking for a job elsewhere soon.

Jonathan K what kind of stuff dont you do? work? You're not old enough to. Good luck getting a sophisticated job in high school, i work at a grocery store bagging groceries. hehe i think next year when I'm 16 im gonna apply at Dunkin Donuts though lol.

Jonathan K- I hope you're not betting on becoming a partner in a law firm as a high school student...everyone must start somewhere and work their way up...God, spoiled children get on my nerves

ecnerwalc- lol...yea you have to move quickly but that's not all...wait until you have to deal with arsehole customers...and keeping a smile/half-smile on your face the entire time

Nah no way. I never smiled at customers. At best, I gave them a nod.

I work at McDonalds.

FOOD SERVICE SUCKS

but you should still do it.

well we have to smile and say "My Pleasure" and "Have a great day" when we serve customers

^Yea me too except I didn't do it. Screw the supervisors.

Uhh... sorry that I don't feel like serving fries to fat people .. ?

I'll probably just volunteer in high school or get a job at some sort of store.

I almost applied to Chick-fil-A, but I got a job working in an office...
