Have you ever taken a class where if you fail the final you fail the class? The final only accounted for 20% of the overall grade. But in the syllabus it states that if you fail the final, you fail the class.

Is that a fair grading policy? Can the Prof. do that? I guess they can do what they want; they're in charge.

I have a 92.5% in a summer session class; these were my first classes at Berkeley. I did horrible on the final, due to the material I studied and the "peripheral material" that made up the majority of questions asked on the test. Learned a valuable lesson though, lol.

if you failed just go talk to him. Im sure they just say that to scare people, and i hope for your sakes i am right

Yes. I.e. Stats N21.

That sucks; now I am really stressing. What a bunch of B.S.

I’ve yet to take a class with that requirement, basically because every class I’ve taken has had finals average in the C to D range anyways. But if the professor says that you have to pass the final, I’m sure the test shouldn’t have been too terrible…(Yet of course, it could be disastrous since you did study the “incorrect” material…) Roll with the punches and see where it gets you. If you do get a fat F, it’ll be in your best interest to talk to the professor.

What’s the class anyways?

It was The Philosophy of Martin Luther King Jr. with Prof. Charles Henry. Great class, by the way. He’s going to see that I studied because I nailed the first question, which I answered word for word from his lecture; did pretty okay on the second, but the last two were questions that were side notes in the lectures or reading. I studied the bulk of the material, but you know how it goes.
