Kervin, USF likes seeing a mix of DE, AP and Honors coursework, you should be in good shape for USF. Keep your grades up and you should be good to go! Please post for everyone when you get word from USF.

alright! BTW is there something going on in the USF admissions office? Because I try and e-mail them updates for my application and they never respond! It’s because I need to let them know that I’m a ventures scholar because I’d be eligible for a $2,000 scholarship!

Admissions is probably backed up now, keep trying. If you have specific questions about scholarships, email one of the admissions scholarship coordinators at
scholarship@usf.edu.

I got in! I applied the first week of October and found out about a week later.

ACT:31
UW GPA: 3.7
W GPA: 4.2

^^Did you receive any scholarship offers yet from USF, or an invite to Honors College? Your stats should qualify you for both.

I got accepted today<3<3<3, but I also got into my number 1 choice UCF which means that unless I get a ridiculous amount of financial aid I will not be attending…

Are you in state? no bright futures?

Ohh wait nvm i thought this was in the UCF thread. Either way you’re getting it right?

I’m instate and I do have bright futures, but if usf offers me A LOT more then ucf I’ll go there. Just don’t want to pay college that’s all.

Yeah I realized that after I realized I was in in a USF thread lol

Kervin, Congrats on your acceptances to both USF & UCF.

Why are you not planning to attend USF?

Don’t get me wrong USF was my number one school throughout high school because I’ve always heard outstanding reviews about it and wanted to enter it’s medical school (which I still might) but UCF seems to be a better fit for me because many of my close friends have raved about it from their experiences so far and they have one of the newest medical schools in the country. Plus whenever I email them or something I always here back the next day, but for USF they don’t even reply oftentimes…I know its a small thing, but the smallest things can go a long way sometimes.

i have a friend who applied before i did like way back in august or september and still havent gotten her acceptance yet. she sent in everything has a 3.8 unweighted GPA and 24 ACT she’s a high school/community college student and should be receiving her AA by the end of the year. why haven’t she gotten accepted yet? after USF got my transcripts and everything else they needed, i got accepted in less than a week, and i applied in october.

Only USF admissions knows why your friend hasn’t been accepted, it could any number of reasons. Your friend should contact USF admissions for an explanation. She should simply call and check if they have everything they need from her now.

she called today and they said it’s bc she’ll have her AA degree by the fall. They also said if she could, she should try to bring up her ACT score which I think is slightly ridiculous because I got in with a lower ACT and GPA than her.

Yup, got accepted about a week ago!

UW GPA: 3.5
W GPA: 4.0
ACT: 27
In state
some community service, no recommendations, all honors classes, 1AP class
Congrats everyone!

They received all my documents and scores a few days ago. So approx how long do you think they will take to decide?

No telling, USF does a modified rolling admission thing, so you have to just roll with the tide. I’m assuming you’re applying as a new freshman for fall or summer 2011. You might hear before Christmas, more likely you’ll get a decision in January. Check your Oasis account regularily, go about your daily business, cross your fingers, and hang loose while waiting for your decision notification. Make sure you keep up your grades this coming spring in high school. Good Luck!

Once the application was complete and transcripts received, it took 2 days.
