just wondering.

Twice. I doubt it was more than an inch either time. The snow was basically gone within a day. I wish it snowed more. The campuses look really cool when it snows (especially West).

There was a day when "ice pellets" were predicted. I asked our son at Duke what that was all about. He said that, anywhere farther north, the stuff coming from the sky would have been called "snow."

nothing really, it only snows once or twice a year around here. its a pity, except if you have to drive somewhere in the triangle.

My daughter called me the day it snowed - she said the snow was pathetic and was gone within a few hours. She was shocked that Durham Public Schools closed for the day.

They close the public schools at the drop of a flurry. People don't know how to drive in it, there are no plows, and things get icy quickly and then the roads really do become dangerous. They also figure it's a lot easier to cancel school than to have to send the kids home early if conditions get worse in the course of the day.

We haven't had much snow in the last two years, but several years ago we had 26 inches in one storm and everything closed down for days. It was fun!

On an average year, it snows more than one inch right?

Unfortunately, no. :(

damn damn damn :(
