Hass preparation schedule

What is the optimal choice of classes for incoming freshmens who are planning to get into hass?

Is it good to sign up for easy classes(Intro classes??) and get a high GPA in order to get into hass?

You are not giving enough information for anyone to give you help. What are “easy classes (intro classes?)”? What would you be taking instead?

What math class should people who want to go to haas take? I am taking AP calc AB this year and am doing pretty well and can pass the AP test. Should I skip math 1a and go on to math 1b or should I take 1a too “boost the GPA?”

What classes should I take as a potential business major?

I will have taken (assume 5s): AP Calc BC, AP Chemistry, AP US History, AP Bio, AP Statistics, AP French, AP Econ, AP Gov

should i take UGBA? what else? thanks :)

uh … i assume you mean ugba 10. and i assume you’re asking about when to take it. first year is fine. people say it’s competitive, but i really don’t think it’s that bad. it’s just like high school, where if you miss 4/36 points on a test, it’s a B+/B. so take the course in high school mode, and you should be okay.

if you’ve APed out of the major prereqs, don’t bother retaking them at cal. you’l probably regret it. then again, maybe there are some things you can’t AP out of. like, i don’t know if AP stats does you any good. but i wouldn’t know, cuz i never took AP stats.

don’t forget all the breadth classes you have to do.

I talked to the admissions office at Haas and for the class of 2012 at Berkeley AP classes will NO LONGER be able to used to satisfy Breadth classes. That means that all incoming freshman will have to complete all four prereq’s and then 7 of 9 breadth courses by the end of sophomore year. This is a huge change and they said the students will be made aware of this at CALSO.
