I dislike my cc and want to transfer to my state university for spring of my sophomore year (this year). The thing is, after this semester I plan to apply to all my top choices. My plan was that if my top choices fell through, I would still at least be at a more decent university (since I would transfer there in spring). I am wanting to know since I would be applying to these top schools at the time with no transfers, would transferring once more for the next spring semester hurt my chances of getting accepted at my top schools or do you think it wouldn’t matter since maybe they would already give me a decision before requesting spring grades?
Hate my cc. Want to apply to my top schools while transfer to other uni. for spring. Will they know?
Why not stay at the CC until fall, transferring to the state university or reach college then?
If you do transfer to the state university in the spring, you will have to report your planned course work there when you apply to reach colleges for fall transfer admission.
I didn’t know if when I apply to my reach schools if they would give me a decision before any spring grades would be finished, thus being able to secure a place regardless if they would then see my spring grades from another university. You are saying that the common app requires you to report upcoming semester coursework before I have even taken anything?
Most transfer applications aren’t due until after the spring semester has started, so yes, you do include your spring classes. Even if they are due earlier, yes you wil be expected to report the classes you plan to take. Please remember also, that while you most likely will receive your admissions offers before spring semester ends, they still are provisonal and can be rescinded based on the final spring grades.
If you dislike your CC, a better option than transferring twice would be to just take spring semester off entirely while you apply for transfer.
You’ll already be enrolled at the new college when you complete your transfer applications and will be listing the college and the courses you’re enrolled in. Some colleges will request spring grades before they make their decision.
