no it shouldn't hurt because 2220 is within the range of the top universities, and as long as you are within the range, your SAT score doesn't even matter anymore.
I got a 2200 (760 on math and writing, 680 on CR), but I will take it again just to be more well-rounded and get 700+ on all.
Since schools take composite scores, you lose nothing by taking the SATs again to improve math.

They only look at your highest score on each section. If you're a junior it can't hurt to take it again. Then again it probably won't matter in the long run. Do you want to waste money and a perfectly good saturday morning just for a few more points (potentially) on the math section? It's your call.

i only took the sat, and got in with a 2190 - so don't worry. your score is good enough, just focus on the other parts of the app. i don't even think the score matters much as long as it is in a reasonable range

Dude stop worrying about your scores. You should be more concerned if you designed a quality application that showed the adcom the passion/qualities you would bring to the school.

Goodness, Stanford will easily reject any 2400 SAT applicant with only his test scores going for him and nothing else.

What they said was right. I got an 800 in math, 780 in CR, and 790 in writing. Your scores are already within the range of the majority of the applicants they choose from. Improving your math score shouldn't be a problem.

thanks guys!
and yeah, diamondT, i know there are many other components to my app. but this is something i can control by prepping, signing up for the test again, etc, so i thought i'd get a 2nd opinion.
