try to work up your GPA if possible, because a 3.5 is kinda low and it only gets harder and harder each year to get into the UCs. But hey anything can happen ;)</p>
<p>Well UCs are definitely trying to up the amount of out of state people they admit because they want your tuition so in that respect I think you have good chances! Your GPA isn’t the highest but your ACT scores are very good. Have a solid senior schedule and I think you’re set!</p>
<p>more more more extra curricular + beef up your essays. UCs really looked into personal stories and GPA. Don’t forget GPA is an accumulation of 4 years of academic excellence while SAT/ACT is one sitting. UC are not favoring OOS over In-State students. The reason why the tuition is much higher is because OOS doesn’t pay taxes to Cal. I think you have a FAIR chance to be honest. Just take challenging courses to demonstrate to colleges that you care about your academics ! :] Good luck!</p>
