<p>I just saw your stats listed in the BC forum... looks like we applied/are applying to similar ones. I think you have a great shot. Definitely have the state senator write you a recommendation ( i had one right one for me) and so far i've gotten into 5/8 schools (no rejects yet). Just keep up all your extracurriculars, grades, write a great essay and you should be good to go almost anywhere.</p>

<p>A) I think you have an excellent chance
B) some have suggested using caution when getting a rec. from people in power - it may make you look desperate or whatever; unless the person can attest to your ability and actually knows you, it would be best to look elsewhere for a rec.</p>
