Hey i got into RUtgers-Newark campus and NJIT...which college is better?

right now i have down undecided, but i plan on transfering to engineering school for biomedical engineering

please help..anyone?

I don't know anyone that goes to rutgers-newark so I can't help there. I can say stuff about njit though.

Most of my friends say that the academics are good cept that it is really self-study. They apparently can't understand the professors half the time. They also hate the fact that there are like, no girls there. They told me not to go to NJIT if I want a social life so I will give you the same advice.

It really depends on what you want. If you are planning on doing engineering though, don't you have to be at the piscataway/new brunswich campus or were you planning on transfering?

oh i didnt get into Brunswick College of Engineering, since it was kinda competitive this year and i guess i shouldve had higher SATs, but they accepted me at Newark.

So what i was planning to do was complete 15 credits, get as good grades as possible, and transfer to college of engineering brunswick( i know someone who did that after a semester at ru-newark...haven't talked to them in a while though..

that's def. a possibility. I don't think it's too hard to transfer from one college to another and as long as you get a fairly decent gpa you should be able to transfer. The engineering school is not that hard to get into.

Personally, I would choose Rutgers over NJIT anyday so it's really your preference. Rutgers has a better reputation, probably better academics (I only took 3 courses there and they were at Busch not the engineering school), better ties with the community, better social life, etc.

If you can do it, a good way to choose would be to visit both colleges and sit in on a class or two.

if Rutgers Newark is a bit easier to get into than Brunswick, than does it mean that RU-NEwark isn't that good..or like doesnt have high standards?

Cause i thought the whole Rutgers is just 1...1 standard. but im assuming since i didnt straight get into engineering(idk why) but got into ru newark, newark might not have high standards?

Either way, im gona try to come to engineering school after a semester or 2.

Rutgers NB is the "main" campus in the NJ State University system. Newark and Camden are the other two smaller campuses. Transfer strategy is certainly an option. I would prefer Rutgers vs NJIT.

I would also consider Stony Brook (SUNY) as an option. SB has Biomedical engineering.
