My dream school is USC, and I hope to get into Viterbi. My next school is UT at Austin, hopefully going to the engineering school. Could anyone suggest another school to apply to? My parents are pressuring me to pick some harder schools, but I just need a school around the quality of these two.
My UW GPA is 3.34 ACT-29 SAT-1880 also a URM.

Indiana Bloomington?

hmm... USC is a pretty big reach, but since you live in Texas, UT-Austin is prob a fit... i would focus more on finding some matches in case you don't get into either of those...

Both of these might be reaches, but how about Michigan or University of Washington? As for less reachy schools, maybe Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin or Penn State.

Indiana has no engineering. How about Colorado, Kansas, or Vanderbilt?

George Washington U may be good. Purdue, Wisconsin, Penn State, Northeastern all sound good. RPI is worth looking at.

you could aim for CMU as a reach because their engineering programs are very well-known.

University of Illinois-reach

You most logical reach above USC and UT would be Rice (I assume that would placate your parents).

I'm guessing based on your ACT score that you won't be getting any NMF money from USC, so UTA might be your most sensible choice. Q. on this though -- if you are top 10%within TX, then you're guaranteed UT right? But are you guaranteed admission to the engineering major?

As far as another similar school not yet mentioned, U of Minnesota. Really cheap for OOS students too.

Given your stats, it looks to me as if you need more safety/match schools, not reaches. You've gotten great suggestions already in this thread, across the spectrum.
