I'm taking Math 2, and am signed up for USH as well, tomorrow.
However, I have spent the last weeks studying Math 2, because I had forgotten all my trig/geometry/etc. Now I am kinda stuck, because I still have to study for USH.
I got a 4 on the APUSH exam last year, with pretty (in my opinion) bad essays. I have REA Crash Course...Should I go through this once/twice taking notes, or should I just take English Lit instead (I got a 4 on AP English Language, too, if that helps)?
Please respond, thanks. I'm looking to get a 700+ in both exams that I take tomorrow, btw.

Also…I just got an 8/10 on the Collegeboard.com practice questions for Lit.
Also, I should mention that I haven’t touched USH since the AP test.

Please respond!

My son is agonizing over a similar decision this evening. I say go for lit because there is less actual information to memorize…it is all passage based reading and mc questions, right?

don’t do the USH test. Change it to a course that you are currently taking, or one that doesn’t require outside info (like Lit). And if you’ve studied for Math 2, I’m sure you could do well on the Math 1 test.

I feel like this is a major downgrade, haha, but I think I’m going to drop it to Math I and Literature.
I am not ready for either of the other two, I’ve forgotten so much of the trig/geometry that there’s no way I’d get above a 700, and I still haven’t started USH.
Meanwhile, I am doing practice tests for Literature/Math I at [SAT Practice - Prepare with Official SAT Test Prep Questions](http://sat.collegeboard.com/practice/) and missed 1/10 in English and so far have missed none in Math, and I’m on 16. I think this gives me a much better chance at good scores, despite the curve. I think since I’m majoring in economics, the complexity of the math is not too big a deal, and English is just as good as any other test.
Good luck to your son with whatever he ends up doing.

I would recommend Lit. I have the actual collegeboard book of practice exams, and despite everyone’s warnings of a super harsh curve, I did very well (700+). Good luck with your choice! I found Lit to be a lot because all the information you need is pretty much right in the passage, unless you wouldn’t have knowledge of certain vocabulary terms or literary terms, but you can still make an educated guess. Harder to guess and get history correct IMO. Best of luck!

Just for future reference and anyone who may stumble upon this thread…
I ended up taking Math I and Lit. I probably would’ve got very low 600s, or 500s for Math II and USH, so I changed it.
I feel like I got in the 700s for Math I, and might’ve creeped into the 700s with Lit, without any studying. So if you are unprepared, don’t hesitate to switch to one of these two.
