Have a financial aid problem

For the fafsa, they only look at my moms and step dads income. My parents are divorced and both my parents dont have that much money. however my step dad does make a good amount of money so my efc came out to 58,000. my step dad isnt giving me anything towards college though. Is there any way to get this changed now to include my dads income and not my step dads? since i didnt get into my own state school, im going to a school thats 30,000 a year and i dont have that much money to pay for it, what should i do

Why didn't you file your FAFSA with only your Dad's income? My parents are divorced. When it came FAFSA time, I would just choose whatever parent made less money that year.

because my address isnt my dads address, i live in ct and my dad lives in ny

You are supposed to "choose" the parent with whom you reside. I do believe that there are some provisions for students whose parents have joint custody, however.
