Have a hard time studying...

Hey folks,
I'm new here and would like to ask for some help. I'm a junior in a private college this year (woot woot 3 semesters left!) and have a fairly decent GPA of around 3.3 or so overall. Maybe 3.4. Who cares? Anyways, two months or so ago, I talked to numerous employers who all told me that both the major and the GPA don't really matter as long as the major is somewhat related to the job and the GPA somewhere above 3.0. From that moment on, I've been unable to study for exams like I used to. Well, honestly I haven't really studied much before, but - hey - this is 3rd year, not freshman year. I need to study.

Now, for some reason, I have the hardest time getting started. Right now I should be studying the UCC for my law exam tomorrow night and I just started half an hour ago. I should have actually started a few days ago. Worst thing is: I know what I should do, but I don't end up doing it. Sounds wrong? Yeah, I think so.

Anyways, I guess it doesn't help that I'm working around 20 hours per week and that I'm feeling just exhausted when I get home in the afternoon/evening and want some time to myself instead of studying. How can I manage working a lot and how do I get my motivation back to actually study? I'm sure most of y'all have had similar problems and I'm wondering if some of you can share some good tips as to how to overcome this chronic laziness, he he.

Thanks a bunch in advance,
Ian

Chop chop, back to the UCC, yey....

Take everything a step at a time, and give yourself a reward, e.g. for every hour you study, you get 15 minutes of goofing off or something. Figure out a system that works for you. If your GPA is a 3.3 or 3.4, it can easily drop below a 3.0 if you don't do any work for the next 3 semesters, or even the next semester, and there goes that job offer! So you might want to keep that in mind as motivation. Good luck!
