have a question about diff. b/w sat and act

what is the major difference b/w sat and act in reading, math, and writing in a levelwise?

i never took act but have some experiences in sat so i'm not sure if i should take act or not...
and is act essay topic similar to sat ones?

The ACT is MUCH more straightforward than the SAT. I didn’t notice that much of a difference in difficulty, however, the ACT’s pace is MUCH faster.

The ACT essay topic is different than the SAT. It’s strictly an argumentative essay and it’s harder to get a good score on it than the SAT.

^I disagree regarding the essay for the ACT. The ACT essay is similar to the SAT essay but i noticed that they(ACT Essay Graders) focus more on length and ideas than the SAT graders

the ACT is more straightforward – the questions focus more on what you were supposed to have learned throughout high school… the timing is pretty strict, though, when compared to the SAT

the SAT tests your reasoning skills more, your ability to analyze.. it puts less focus on the exact things you should have learned in high school… timing is less strict here, but there are more “traps” on this test

overall, both tests are equal in difficulty… about the same amount of people take each test, and the bell curves for the scores for each test are pretty identical.. it’s just that some people prefer one or the other (because they’re better at one than the other).. i’m better at the ACT, so I prefer that one.. some people are better at the SAT, so they prefer that test
