Have any frosh received housing info?

Anybody? We're still waiting.

My daughter is still waiting too.

Nope, not a thing.

According to the facebook group Pomona College 2010, which i am proudly a member of, they were sent out yesterday. Southern California should be receiving it today followed shortly by the rest of the country.

Housing and Sponsor Group Info just arrived in S. California!

Will this be by snail mail? Nothing yet in CT.

daughter received info last Saturday by snail mail in VA

Not to cause any unnecessary or additional "angst" but what you receive isn't always the final word. My S got his room and roommate assignment in advance of school, all to find it was completely changed upon his arrival.

Bullwinkle

was the dorm changed or just the single/double assignment changed?

it came to VT yesterday

naxos- to answer your question, my S was originally assigned to one dorm with a roomate and instead, upon arrival, was assigned to a different dorm and single room. It was more of a hassle for his intended roommate who had traveled 3,000 miles and my S and he had made arrangements about what each would bring (with my S bringing most of the large items since we live only about an hour or so away).

But, not to worry. I think such things are atypical, but they do happen. Overall, all the dorms are pretty decent so hard to go wrong.

Thanks bullwinkle--Daughter has so far has been assigned a single- we shall see!

Best of luck to her. I'm sure she's going to have a GREAT experience at Pomona.

How's Wig? -I read on a Pomona link that it was renovated last summer, but the newly admitted student link only mentions a 1993 renovation. Just want to be prepared.

How's Wig????- not aware of it being renovated recently. I think you'll find all the dorms are pretty much the same and all quite nice. Of the dorms on "south" campus (such as Wig) I believe only Mudd-Blaisdell has a/c so a fan is not a bad idea for the first few months of school. After that weather is typically not much of a factor.

The Student Life, September 23, 2005, "Lonely Sponsors and Leaky Showers, Wig and Gibson Renovations Result in Mixed Feelings". Despite the "mixed feelings", it sounded pretty promising.

wig was renovated last summer, so the bathrooms are especially a lot nicer than the other dorns. i lived in wig 2 and absolutely loved it in comparison to the other freshmen dorns (although it would have been nice to have a/c)

Thanks! Sounds encouraging.

D lived on Wig 1 last year and utilized the pretty spacious closet space (floor to ceiling). She stored her boxes on the uppermost shelf. Also, the doubles easily accommodated all the stuff she and her roommate brought.

Thanks! What is Wig 1 and Wig 2? First and second floors? Just wondering.
