Have any of you been recruited for a sport, but decided not to play in college?

I'm just curious. I made my decision today, but I'm wondering if I will regret it later. I definitely will play my senior year though!

I think you answered that yourself!
“I find that to be dishonest, and I know I will be unable to face the coaching staff if I were to quit after taking up a spot on their roster that someone else would have otherwise filled.”

I wasn’t really recruited, but I did have the opportunity to play DII Golf at a very reputable academic school. I chose not to even though it was the only school I could play at because I wanted to be closer to home and the school I go to now has an even better academic reputation.

i was recruited to a lot of schools for hockey. But on every official visit i went on i found myself not loving the school, liking it but not loving it. I wanted the WHOLE college experience, great nightlife, large school, great greek life, heavily supported football team, my major, good weather. At the end of the day i didn’t want to go to some small, boring school in the middle of nowhere and freeze my ass off just to say i played NCAA hockey. College she be the time of your life so if you don’t love your school you shouldn’t be wasting your time there.
