Have any transfer applicants gotten a decision yet?

I know it says decisions don't go out until April 1st, but I was wondering if anyone had gotten a decision. My application was completed February 6th, and the anticipation has been building ever since! Is it possible that I'll hear before April, or should I not bother constantly checking until April?

I have some friends who have heard back already. You should know BY April 1st, the decisions go out in mid-March.

If it’s any consolation, I applied the same time as you and I haven’t received a reply yet. I’m super anxious as well! Good luck!

Awesome! So we should be here within the next few weeks! Thank you! Good luck to you as well!

Still waiting, anyone getting decisions?

i need to submit my Spring Transcript, but i not able to get it until Mid June. they tell me to submit it asap. :-SS

Really? That’s a little ridiculous considering how much longer you’re going to have to wait! Good luck!

@tgenovajr, i already give up, thinking reapply next semester, but i will send the transcript anyway

Nickogy…could you submit your grades as of what they are now? I think some times mid-term grade reports are like the classes you are in now, the grades average so far, and you get the professor to sign it.

@Nickogy how many credits do you have? I read a lot of people, including an admissions representative, saying Stony Brook wants people with at least 28 credits. So if you’re under that number I’d say wait till your over and re apply, but hopefully you will still be able to get in for next semester! Best of luck!

@tgenovajr i only have 14 credit so far…by the end of this semester i will have 26…

@nickogy 24 credits is the number, that could be why they want you to send your spring transcript. When you applied did you send your HS stuff?

@tgenovajr i apply in mid January, i did sent my high school stuff in, and sat

I got in.

3.9 GPA 24 credits NYC resident

MSUFTWW, would you mind telling me when you submitted your application and in what medium did they inform you of your decision?

I’m waiting for my decision with a 3.8 GPA, 16 credits at time of application (also submitted high school transcript which was ~3.9) and SAT score of 2210. I think my current college ECs are quite strong as well.

I’m logging on to SOLAR everyday to check.

NickOGY, I think it’s a bit odd of them to ask for the Spring Transcript when you are applying for Fall 2014 Transfer.

When I contacted the admissions office, they said they would only need my Fall 2013 transcript and my high school transcript and SAT scores.

Additionally, how did they ask you to submit your the Sprng 2014 transcript? By email, letter, call?

@j814wong, yes, it is Ridiculous though, so in order to get spring transcript, i need to wait until mid june, not sure there still have seats for me. i only have 14 credit with 3.27 GPA. one day i check on my solar, and the spring transcript thing was there. and i contacted the admin office, they said because i only have like 14 credits. so they need my spring trans too.

That’s odd. They never asked me for that. I called them some time after submitting all my materials and they told me I was good to go application-wise. Specifically, I asked them to verify that they had all the necessary materials and they said they did.

I had 12 credits completed from college in my first semester (Fall 2013) and then over the winter, I took a 4 credit course from Stony Brook. I also have 32 credits from AP from my current university. Do you have any AP credits when you applied?

@j814wong, already give up though.

I’m beginning to get worried that I haven’t gotten a response yet. My gpa is a 3.96 with 55 credits, but at a weak school (SUNY farmingdale) in Mechanical Engineering Technology and I’m trying to get into Mechanical Engineering at Stony.

Their website says transfer decisions BEGINNING April 1. I wouldn’t worry just yet!
