Its been 3 weeks since my acceptance and I applied for housing the first week of January. I've been told by housing that I have a very good chance of receiving of contract and that I most likely will, yet I still haven't gotten my contract.

Have any other transfer students received one?

still haven’t gotten mine, i applied late though; I was talking to a guy who transferred to UT from UTA last semester and he told me its very unlikely I would get a contract on campus at one of the dormitories even though I applied 2 weeks ago.

I am a transfer student who was accepted to McCombs for Fall 2009. When I called them and asked, they said it’ll be around mid July through end of July is when we’ll receive contracts. Now MY orientation is on July 6th but I am worried dorms might be full before that.

july?!? I was told a few weeks after acceptance. grrr its been 3 weeks already and i’m freaking out that I won’t have a place to live. thanks for the info though

I talked to the housing lady, and remember I am a transfer. I think you’ll receive alot of information before and do good research but the time range she gave me was mid July, which I agree is a date to be freaked out at.

I can’t believe they won’t tell us sooner… or else we need to make alternate housing plans ASAP… I mean I don’t even think there are apartments open… and I won’t have a car… so I mean this is ridiculous.

Aww, I’ll give u a ride lol …but if you are freshman, I am pretty sure you are guaranteed on campus housing, and I’ve read in some thread that housing is more of a problem for current than incoming freshman and transfers…dont worry… and how was your orientation and were u guys separated by major …can u tell a little plz …cz I am yet to go on July 6th

I’m also going to the orientation on July 6th, I’m sure there is PLENTY of housing available off campus; freshmen get preference into dorms over transfers.

There will still be housing options in August if you don’t get into the dorms - sometimes at bargain rates - if you applied in January, though, I think you will be fine!
