Have anyone written about LGBT issues?

Or I'm grateful if someone can comment on my essay :)

I’ll take a look. And yes, it’s a common but uncommon thing to do. What I mean is that almost all gay or “questioning” applicants write about the topic, but those who have not been personally affected do not.

I myself did not write on this topic, but I helped a gay student write an application essay on this topic (and he got a full scholarship to a program he really liked). I can look at your essay as well.

I didn’t mention being gay in my common app essay, but do you guys think it would be a good idea to work it into some of my writing supplements (even if it’s a bit of a stretch given the question)?

Guys, I wrote it because it literally changed my life and made a huge impact on my character. I’m just not sure whether my essay speaks powerfully on my behalf. I think AO would not admit you because you are in the GLBT community, but because how this chance, I call it, shapes you and makes your character stand out.

@zvoidx‌ Don’t awkwardly shoehorn it in if it doesn’t fit or if you just think you’ll get brownie points, but by all means mention it if it’s genuinely important to you.
