I am currently a student at UCR and have finished freshman year somewhat with a sad finale. I've maintained a 3.0ish GPA the first two quarters, but third quarter, I've completely bombed it and have a 1.0 GPA so far.

I've been going through alot of depression spring quarter and some issues, but even then, the 1.0 is pretty depressing which just adds on to my depression.

I've been hoping to maybe go to SD, but it seems to be that I've knocked out that chance now. Is there any hope at all? And I am to stay at this depressing school for another 3 years?

You might as well try applying, but the outcome does not seem good. I’d try retaking the classes over the summer and work harder during Fall. You still have summer and fall to bring it up…

I wouldn’t get your hopes up to transfer. Priority is not on your side, so you need a higher GPA than the average transfer GPA for your given major. Your gpa is around a 2.5ish (guess) which isn’t terrible, but is not going to get you anywhere. Any hope would rely on a 4.0 next quarter (and take classes over this summer) to get your GPA up above 3.0 and then write a kick awesome essay about your depression.

Have you considered attending CC next year?
