Have I messed up my academic major selection permanently? HELP!

Hi all!

I am international student and I have been admitted to Berkeley for Fall 2014. I have been accepted to the college of natural resources for Molecular Environmental Biology.

Will I have to permanently stick with this major, or can I switch to another major both in my college and in other colleges (like letters and sciences). For instance, I'm considering Environmental Economics and Policy, or Pure Economics or maybe even MCB. And perhaps a minor in the college of chemistry.

Would this be feasible and is it actually easy to pick the major you want?

Thanks!

Assuming you’re a freshman, probably yes.

Here’s the change of college policy if you want to be in L&S: http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/registration/changeofcollege.html

Some colleges/majors are impacted, and those are harder to get into. If you were trying to swap into CoE, it’d be much harder than changing to L&S. Each college has its own rules for changing majors.
