Alright, I am kind of freaking out about this.

See, my GPA right now is a 2.5, and I am really not happy about that. I haven't really been caring as much as I should, and I am a sophomore in highschool. As of right now, fourth quarter, I have an A in all my classes, so I am hoping I have at least a 3 for my final quarter. My question to you, is have I screwed up? If I continue to get maybe at least a 3.3, do you think I have a chance of going to any musical theatre colleges in New York City? I have a whole lot of ECs, but my GPA is slipping, but I feel if I try I can really do better. Is it a lost cause?

Thanks for your help. I am dead set on going to college in NYC.

My GPA has risen over the years, but what changed most for me was my rank. I started out 141 at the end of the semester for my freshman year and am now approaching the end of my junior year. I'm now 78, which is quite a big leap. All I'm saying is that I didn't work as hard as I should have my freshman year, but with hard work, GPA and rank can definitely go up.

Couldn't help but wonder...Javert wouldn't happen to be a Les Miz reference, would it? :)

As for your actual question, I know where I live we have a high school for the arts that takes students sophmore/junior year based on an audition. I don't know if you have something like that (you may have already looked into it), but if so then it might be worth researching.
