Have NO IDEA

hi, im a rising senior and im planning to take my first ACT this September.

I got the real ACT book, but i have no idea how to study and what books are good for studying/reviewing.

I took ap chem and ap physics, and other honors science classes. So I might say that if I review for science a little bit, I would be fine in the science section. ( but I really am not sure about other sections.)

Any stragedy, or information that can be shared? PLEASE?

Get Princeton Review’s “Cracking the ACT” book. It has a helpful english and math section review. Do some practice tests and look at your mistakes. You’ll eventually become comfortable with the test.

thanks :-)

If I must say something…

the science section has nothing to do with knowing any science (typically only one very easy question requires previous knowledge). The hardest part of taking the test the first time, is well… the time! So time yourself, take the practice test, score yourself… repeat and you’ll be faster and better.

is the reading and language art section harder than SAT’s?

I found it to be easier on the ACT- English 35 and Reading 33
Whereas on the SAT my scores were
Reading 600, then 590
Writing 610, then 690

I find the reading and writing sections less difficult but much more time constrained on the ACT compared to the SAT. You just have to adjust to the ACT’s “Search passage, reword passage” deal… because that’s all it really is.

which ACT books r good for studying? I have Cracking the ACT and the Real ACT. Any other books for good preparation?
