<p>Has anyone outside of the top ten percent in state gotten an acceptance/rejection?</p>
<p>I had a friend that got in. She had a 2020 SAT, and she was outside the top ten percent, not too much and not too little. She was also involved in a few clubs/teams, but she didn’t get her first choice major =/</p>
<p>i actually just had two students from my school recieve an acceptance and they are both very rich in exttracurriculars, however thier ranks and GPAs are very low. Does this mean Texas is only taking those with good extracurriculars and no longer looking at academics?</p>
<p>They don’t care about # of ECs as much as leadership. Leadership positions and interesting essays carry weight because they demonstrate what the student can bring to UT.</p>
<p>@n_sing10 how low were their GPAs just wondering? and i agree with ZLC i think the essays can really showcase you as a person outside of your numbers.</p>
