I'm getting pretty nervous about this. Mid-April is almost upon us and myUCF status has not changed. My test scores and transcript got to them a month ago.

Anyone on the same boat and is still waiting?

Anyone on the same boat and is still waiting?

When did you apply and what were your scores - gla and test

Gpa*

I started applying in late February and all my stuff got to them a month ago.

These are my stats (I copy and pasted this from a thread a started a few weeks ago):

"GPA (Unweighted): 3.05
GPA (Weighted): 3.52

SAT (CR+M): 1250
SAT (Overall): 1850

I took all honors classes and 7 AP’s during high school. My high school nationally ranked performing arts school. I was a violin player there.
I was in French Honor Society.
I co-founded both The Mickey Mouse Club and Mythology Club.
I was corresponding secretary of the Junior Class Council.
I’ve been playing violin since I was 9 with a private teacher and played in the school orchestra.
I do have a job right now.

I graduated in 2012 and decided to take time off after high school for several reasons. I was not emotionally or mentally ready to go to college at the end of my senior year. I had a really bad time that year. I had two close family members die and I basically gave up on school. My grades went down and I didn’t even care.
Also, I really had no idea what I wanted to study in college and didn’t feel like wasting my time and money while being unsure.
So I took time off and got a job. I really feel like I got a lot of my discipline back since I’ve been working and am so ready to take the next step to go to school and move on to a new phase in my life."

A waiting time of a month is nothing-I expect they’ll get back to you at the last possible minute, as you did apply pretty late in admissions. Many people here have had to wait 3-4 months (What happened to be when I applied in 2012). Just wait, they’ll get back to you. But make sure you have a backup plan, in case you’re not accepted. Did you apply for summer or fall? With those stats, you should have applied for summer, as fall is pretty out of reach.

@WRITEfluidity
Well that’s reassuring! Thank you.

I applied for Fall. But I have to respectfully disagree with you on Fall being out of reach for me. I’ve personally seen people on here and plenty in person who have gotten in for Fall with lower stats than I have. In my opinion, if I’m denied or accepted for summer it’ll be because I applied later in the game rather than because of my stats.

I know people have talked about how UCF is getting harder to get into but I doubt it’s gotten to the point just yet where my stats are considered not worthy of Fall admission. I mean, UCF is awesome and I’m psyched about the idea of going but, let’s be honest, it’s no northeastern school.

With all that said, I do think I have a chance. :)

Yes, many people have gotten in with lower stats-when they applied earlier. The longer you wait, the more competitive fall becomes. That’s not to say you won’t get in for fall, but it HAS become a reach, because of the amount of time that has passed. It is always based on your stats. For instance, if you applied with those stats say, in November, you likely would have been accepted for fall. But the longer you wait, the more competitive the application pool for fall becomes (And summer, as well). So it still does relate to your stats. UCF has gotten much harder to get into, because the amount of people who are applying. They cannot take everyone, so the more competitive the applicant pool, the more competitive the school. UCF is already more competitive then FSU, so that does say something. It’s not Ivy League, but UF isn’t one, either. You do still have a very good shot! Just more so to get in for summer then fall. You may still get into fall, of course, but your chances have declined for that semester. I’m sure you’ll be okay, though. College admissions is very random.

Indeed. Trying to figure out what admission officers want means ramming your head against a brick wall.

Just take a deep breath-you’ll hear back from them soon, they have to tell you within the next couple of weeks, anyway!

Thank you! :)

I’d just like to update everyone on my situation!
I GOT ACCEPTED FOR SPRING 2015!!!
I’m totally cool with it because it gives me time to save money and to prepare myself.

But anyways, what ended happening was that 3 days ago I emailed admissions telling them that I still not had received a decision even though it was almost 2 weeks past the enrollment deadline. I basically asked them what was up. I received a reply the same day saying that my application was still being reviewed.
Funny enough, yesterday I checked myUCF where it said UCF was offering me a place for Spring 2015!

I’m super psyched!

Moral of the story is:
DON’T BE AFRAID TO EMAIL!
