I only plan on doing 1 AP my senior year, English Lit AP. No one in the school really does that many AP's because the courses here are just as vigorous.
Our school doesn’t calculate GPA, nor does it count class rank.

At my old international school, that is not in the United States (although it is English speaking), we used the IB system. I had top grades there as well, my freshman year, as well as my sophomore year (I repeated at my current school)

The portfolio I submitted for the Shanghai World Expo will also be a stunner.

Essays/Teacher Recs
I am a great writer, so essays will not be a problem
Teachers also really like me, as I am active in class, etc, so recs will also be great.

Not looking for Financial Aid

International Applicant (CANADA)
So what I am having trouble with is selecting some schools, whether safety reach or matches. Could you all please suggest some for me. The only requisite is that I dont want like schools in the deep South/Texas, nor schools in the middle of nowhere in places like Colorado, Idaho, etc.

Thanks

Your preferences are a bit vague; for example, what do you define as the Deep South? I’ve found that the farther one gets from the South, the stranger boundaries people draw around it, so I imagine that a Canadian might not have a clear definition. In truth, the South starts at Virginia, but where between there and, say, Mississippi do you draw the line between South and Deep South?

Deep South usually means states like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and sometimes Kentucky and South Carolina. I could be missing some, but the first three are certain. It is rather arbitrary.

Schools that are good at finance include: UPenn, NYU, UC Berkeley, UNC Chapel Hill, MIT, UVA, Carnegie Mellon, USC (Southern California), and Boston College.

Sorry about the confusion, basically I dont want to go to a school in as mentioned, mississippi, georgia, florida, alabama, etc. Virginia would be fine I think.

Bump this up thanks

bump again. Please help me out

USC, UCLA, UCB, UCSB, U Chicago, Northwestern, NYU, Barnard?, UVA, W&L, william and mary, Wake Forest, U Richmond, Villanova, UGA, Carnegie Mellon, Tufts, Colgate, Vanderbilt

for sure target and backup schools would be:
