Have not received financial aid letter?!

Hello everyone,
It seems that many UChicago admits have already gotten their financial aid awards. I wanted to know how I could check my aid status--there is nothing on my account homepage. Is it not normal to have no aid award by now (I was EA)? Anyone input would be immensely appreciated!!

Thanks

Call the FA office now. Like, right now. You must not have complete paperwork, and they can be bad about notifying you about these sorts of things. They were with me, at least. I got in EA, and got my award with the RD decisions. The only way to sort it out is the give them a call.

I’m in the same boat but I’m RD and my letter said that I should be receiving my packet within 1 week (Friday 3/26 marked the 1 week). Should I give it a little more time or call? Thanks in advance.

My son was EA as well. He got his FA Friday the 26th. Last Monday, the 22nd, the FA letter was uploaded onto his account homepage. It was a tab under his View Decision letter, labeled View Financial Aid letter or something like that :-)

I’m in the same situation. EA but no FA package. I’m thinking we’re in competition for merit scholarships from what I read. What do you guys think ??

Thanks for the advice kitkatkatie!

ChairmanGuo, I think its quite possible. Maybe they ran out of funding…

I emailed finaid office yesterday, and they gave me this reply:

"Your Aid Decision will likely be available on the Admissions website by tomorrow. We will send you an email about this.

Thank you,

College Aid"

I got worried about the one week thing, but maybe just they just got busier than expected. It should be alright.

Thanks angelawyz99! Well, that takes some stress away from this week!

Still waiting to hear. Maybe when you all hear, you can post to say when you finally got them. All info was sent in by the deadline (even called to check some time ago).

HEARD! ~ Heard! ~ HEARD! ~ Heard! ~ HEARD!

I felt relieved when I finally got my financial aid letter link on my UChicago account.
It was…well, perhaps its generous on U of C grounds, but it is not something that we can very easily pay, to put it lightly. Alas…U of C was my first choice, too.

Oh well, I guess some of the best things in life have to have a dear cost, too.
Gosh, I would trade that scarf and calendar and book for a better affordability…
