I don’t really think Emory is a “rich school.” Yeah, you have rich people, but they don’t dominate. I myself am an Emory Loan-replacement grant recipient as are many of my friends. Really, it’s not a problem.

Hi! I’m in the midst of applying to Emory, and I’m confused about the differences between ED I and ED II besides the obvious due dates.
Do students applying ED I have a better chance of getting admitted than ED II?
What’s the purpose of having two separate ED dates?

Hey David,

I know someone asked about Emory Scholars before, but the link you provided didn’t really answer the question. I’m not sure if this is your area of expertise or not, but do we have to provide an additional teacher recommendation on top of the two required for the common application? I don’t see any forms for teacher recommendations, so I’m not really sure if we have to have separate recommendations.

Thanks,

Emory is quite socioeconomically diverse. The average grant-aid amount is $20,455, which brings the cost of Emory down to the cost of the best state schools.

persianprincess,

This is a question best answered by an admissions counsellor. Email them here:

Do I have to apply Emory ED if I file Emory Scholar stuff by November?

That could be a big problem if you transfer. If you transfer to a much more common 3 credit course school, you will lose one transfer credit for each of those Emory courses you took, and it will be hard to graduate in 4 years. I know this because it happened to one of my daughters at another school. She did catch up by taking 6 courses some semesters and a summer study abroad and now will indeed graduate in 4 years.

And not only that, taking 4 courses instead of 5 will compound the problem.

Which one is easier to get in? CAS or B-school? Is it easy to change schools to like business, nursing from CAS?

Hi, I was accepted to the Class of 2015 at Emory College, but I’m still trying to decide where to go, and I’m having a lot of trouble. I’m not sure about what I want to major in either, but I’m strongly considering math and/or foreign language. Could you tell me about each program and also whether or not it is feasible to double major at Emory? Thanks.

Hi, several of us have some questions about student life at Emory. It would be great if you could take a look at the thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/emory-university/1118561-student-life-off-campus.html

Thanks!

You have to go through the CAS and then apply to B-School after your pre-reqs. are done. 80% are admitted to B-School. It’s best that you take classes that are easy or known for grade inflation (actually, I imagine a challenging intro. or intermediate econ. section can’t hurt that much. It’ll be better prep and they usually curve anyway) as the average college GPA for B-School admittances is 3.5ish.

Does Emory accept high school dual credits?
Is Emory a good place to study international studies?
Do you’ll have international partners, if so which?

Thanks for the help.

Does Emory have a CAS foreign language requirement? If so, how bad is it?! Thanks!

I think the requirement is 2 years of language or something like that?

There is a foreign language requirement, not sure how long. I know business majors don’t have to take a foreign language though.

How are the international relations and political science programs at Emory?!

It’s only 1 year (2 semesters).

what do you consider the best dorms for freshman and why

Does anyone know whether Emory has a good international studies program? Is it well-respected?
Thanks!

Does anybody know how many spots are open at Oxford from the Emory waitlist? Does Oxford keep slots open specifically for this purpose?

Thanks!
