I missed the deadline for paying the housing reservation fee and no longer have a housing offer. I have been put on the waitlist and I have some questions about housing.
- What are the chances I will get housing from the waitlist? Some people have said freshman get priority and usually get dorms while others have said the chance of getting a spot from the waitlist is very slim.
- If I do not get another housing offer, where is the best place to find off campus housing? I am not bringing a car to college so I have to find something within walking distance. I would like it if there is a place that provides some kind of furniture (a bed and/or a desk would be nice.)
- If I get off campus housing how much more expensive is it compared to a dorm room (I'm assuming I will have to pay for gas and electricity as well) . I know this probably varies greatly depending on the apartment, but a general estimate would be nice.
- Right now I am looking at Studio apartments at the University Town Center. If anyone here by chance has housed there and can comment on that experience it would be great.
Sorry if my post is disorganized, I’m kinda freaking out right now.
