Have Teacher Evaluations Replaced Recommendation Letters Completely?

Essentially the title, is it only the teacher evaluations that will need to be completed by your recommenders as nowhere on the CommonApp does it refer to reference/recommendation letters...

No, go to commonapp website under “Colleges”, click on a college, scroll down on the center and under “Required” will be Application Fees, Test Policy, and Recommendations Required. This is where teacher recommendations are listed.

For my schools, teacher evaluations go to my high school’s counselor, then she uses those to write me and SSR. The teacher recommendation letters go directly to the colleges. Hope this helped!

The common app’s “Teacher Evaluation” form is the way teachers now submit their recommendations to common app schools. Teachers can still create a rec letter the old fashioned way, but for common app schools the ideal way to submit that is to upload it as part of the Teacher Eval form. However, many teachers and schools are opting out and submitting other ways still.
