Have the standards declined this year?

I was told on here that with my stats, it's a reach - 3.77/4.14 GPA, 1940 SAT (1330), 5 on APUS, 5 on APWH, 5 on APPsych, and 4 on APChemistry Exams. 700 on USH and Math 2 subject tests. Decent EC's, good recs and essays.

But I'm seeing all these people with 3.5 GPAs and 1800 SATs getting into CAS or LSPed. So based on the ED results, what would you say my chances are?

And do you think the standards have declined, or is it that standards are generally lower for ED applicants?

When the admissions people came to my school, they flat out told me you have a slight advantage when you apply ED because you’re saying “this is my first choice, and I will drop everything for this school”. Plus. You have to apply early, haha.

Also, I think in this economic climate standards may be lowered a little. Especially in New York City, since it’s hella expensive to live there.

You also have to take in consideration the school. Whether they have AP or IB offered, and how many. The school’s size. Those kinds of things.

You are not a “reach” but any means with those stats. You are probably more of a “match” than a “high match,” even. So whoever told you this is misinformed, in my opinion.

I don’t think the standards have declined, I just think some tend to put too much weight on having 700+ in every section of the SAT. You have a very good chance.

GPA:3.77/4.14 SAT: 2220…do I have a shot? (from one of your other threads)

What did you really get?

lmao to landon
