I asked about three days ago if the admissions office could change something pretty substantial on my application and the next day they e-mailed me back and said that it was changed. So apparently it wasn't too late. Does that mean my case hasn't been decided on or what? If it had, then it would have been too late to change, right? I'm kind of confused...

(I posted this because I thought if they hadn't made my decision yet, then they might not have decided a bunch of people's yet.)

I think that Columbia has started going through the applications and reading them. Columbia can get a pretty good feel for what a candidate is by spending 20 minutes reading your application(the admissions office has probably been doing this for about a month or two now). Chances are, one tiny thing not included is not going to play a huge role in the admissions process. If they've already made a decision for you, they might go back and see if it changes anything, but I wouldn't expect it to have a large degree of influence on your application.

I doubt Columbia is done making final decisions on applications- if this was true, decisions would already be released. I would, however, suspect that decisions will be released late next week, or early the week after. Historically speaking, Columbia is amazingly prompt in coming out with decisions for ED applicants compared to other schools.

In sum, relax; there's not anything you can do to change what the admissions office will do at this point. Soon enough, you'll know the results of the decision.
