Have they telephoned you?

My son got a phone call from a student at Maryland. He talked with her for few minutes. She asked if he had any questions, and he said no. LOL. Anyone else get a phone call?

Yea I got one. I talked to a girl in the honors college for 10-15 minutes. She was nice and pretty informative. I had a couple questions about the honors program that she answered.

I got one too. The guy didn't mention being in the honors college, but he was able to answer my questions about honors and Gemstone housing. At first, I just sort of made up a question so I'd have something to ask, but then we ended up talking for maybe 10 minutes.

Yeah, they called. I don't think it was really useful because I wasn't prepared to ask any questions and was suprised about the call. The girl on the phone was really nice and it's always good to know they care enough to call.

My D got a call last night, and the call was short. She (caller) told her that decision date is May 1, and asked my D if she had any questions. Is the school calling every admitted students, or selected students (such as honors, scholars, etc.)? It will be useful to know if you (who got a call) are invited/selected as honors, scholars, or not. My D was invited to honors, gemstone, and honors humanities.

^^My son was invited to honors & honors humanities, as well.

Adaman, may I ask if you are a B/K semifinalist? The other two in-state students here (flowersunshine and misralz) are semifinalists. I am just wondering if there is a possible relationship.

jjsdad, yes, I am a B/K semifinalist.

My son just got called also. He is still on the phone now with someone. I pray there is scholarship money as that would probably be the deciding factor on whether he would attend.

My daughter got a call too. She's accepted for Honors Humanities program. With it being "Out of the blue", she didn't really have any specific questions.

I got a call when I wasnt home... (my mom picked up and asked some questions tho)

and if it matters, I got invited to Scholors, not Honors

i got a call from a girl who was really nice. I didnt have any questions intially so just started talking about scholars in general - which led to some questions. it was really informative and it was nice to know students are friendly (at least the one who called me, ha). it was so funny though, she kept asking if she could be excused so she could cough and i could hear her coughing off in the distance kinda made me laugh.
