as an incoming transfer student, if my units this semester is 12.5 below full time 13 units, what will happen? Thanks.

You would be considered a part-time student. This is generally problematic if you require financial aid since (so far as I know) you need to be a full time student to get aid.

The minimum for financial aid is twelve units. This is from the website:

“You are expected to attend full time. At Berkeley that is 12 units for financial aid purposes.”

Well, there’s also this: [Courseload Regulations - Office Of The Registrar](http://registrar.berkeley.edu/courseloadregs.html)

Right, but I was responding to the comment regarding financial aid. 12 units is what is required to receive aid. I know this because my son is currently registered for 12 units and has received full financial aid.

[UC Berkeley Financial Aid Office: Undergraduates Maintaining Eligibility](http://students.berkeley.edu/finaid/undergraduates/eligibility.htm)

Keep in mind though, your son is in CoE, so his unit minimum is 12, while for L&S it is 13.

still doesnt affect financial aid. It does, however, cause problems in status as a registered full time student.
