Ok, so I just got a call from my school telling me I have to drop AP Human Geography because of our school schedule I can't fit it in. So my options for classes are: AP environmental science (satellite class), AP statistics, marine biology, or psychology. At my school marine bio is a glorified colouring class and psych is a slack class and I really don't want to take ap stat. Sooo is AP environmental Science a good class to take? I'm already taking AP literature and composition, AP Government, Spanish 5, AP Spanish, orchestra, and Calculus. My top 3 schools are William and Mary, UVA, and JMU. I have a 4.23 and am ranked 34 out of 444, so would Environmental Science be a good class to take? I heard it's kind of frowned upon.

I’ve taken APES and it really boils down to who is teaching you the course. The course itself can be boring, but it’s not very hard (depending on your teacher and how well you study). At my school there were two classes for APES and I don’t think anyone in my class passed because it was one of the first times my teacher had actually taught the class. The teacher of the other class however, had a lot of experience and many students did well (most were seniors). Good Luck!

APES is NOT frowned upon. That’s crazy. It is considered one of the easier/less rigorous AP courses, but it’s still an AP course! Students who take APES are taking an AP course when they could be taking a non-AP course. Considering you are taking another math course and no science courses, APES is a better choice than AP Stats anyway.

That’s like saying a 2200 SAT score is “frowned upon” because it could have been a 2400. C’mon now.
