Have Transfers Heard Yet?

Are there any transfers on this forum that have heard yet from Emerson? I have been patiently waiting!!

Leisha09,
Several students I know are also patiently waiting, but I think the consensus is that notification for transfers can come anytime after April 1st until May 15th. If your application is incomplete, it can be as late as June, so make sure to check your application status online to see that everything has been received.
Unfortunately, students only find out by mail. There is no online link to check whether or not you have been accepted. This means waiting even longer.
I know it’s hard, but hang in there. They usually send them out in waves, so don’t be concerned if you don’t hear for awhile.
Hang in there!

Thanks so much for your answer! I did think it wasn’t until after April 1, but wasn’t completely sure. And yeah, all of my application materials are in. If I don’t hear prior to may 1, I will have to send in deposits elsewhere just to secure my spot in the class. I do know of a current Emerson student that didn’t get her acceptance until the day of graduation from her community college… I just can’t imagine waiting that long! But thanks again!

According to the admissions office, the first batch went out yesterday (and my decision was in that batch!). I am so anxious!

C26, my goodness! How did you get your hands on that information!
Here’s hoping!!!

i just asked! haha
you could probably email them and ask when you’ll hear (give your name), and if you’re lucky they’ll let you know if yours has been processed yet!

good luck :)

thanks for letting me know! I wonder if they’re sent out alphabetically… mind telling me the initial of your last name? who knows… maybe that’s not the case. but I can’t wait! good luck to you!

i don’t think so, my last name starts with a N hahaa
my letter hasn’t come yet! looks like i’ll have to wait til monday… :(

Just got my package today for Transfer Sept 09!!
I’m in!!!

I got my huge packet in the mail today too! I’m so excited! I just now need to wait for the FA package. What is your major?

I also applied as a transfer for this upcoming fall semester and am anxiously waiting to hear from Emerson! I’m getting nervous seeing that you have all heard and I have yet to hear anything :frowning: I hope that doesn’t mean what I think it means!

ach2008,
Don’t worry at all! This the VERY first batch of applicants. My major is Theater Studies - non-performance, which required an essay. I submitted it the first day I was able to. There are going to be a whole bunch more waves sent out.
Don’t worry one bit!!!

someone needs to make a emerson transfer facebook group! haha!

I totally agree! I joined the class of 2012 one a few months ago but obviously I couldn’t find a soul in there that was a transfer haha.

ach2008, i nominate you! do it!

do it… i’ll join! also… don’t worry. everyone is right, this was the first batch to go out, you have until may 15. a girl that transferred from my two year school to emerson didn’t hear until the day of graduation that she got in to emerson (may 15ish) so she was one of the very last to hear. so don’t worry and good luck!

I did it!
Check on Facebook! Search for Emerson College Transfer Students Fall 09!!!
I wanted to make one but I wanted to be sure people would join!
Here we come!

I temporarily deactivated my facebook because I was basically addicted to it and it was keeping me from concentrating on school. But when I re-activate it (probably in a week or 2) I will definitely join!

still nothing from Emerson :(

ah congrats guys!

but on a more anxious note… does anyone know if emerson takes their time updating the application status website – mine says “incomplete” due to a missing transcript that e-confirmation has assured me has been signed for.
also there’s a blank date next to “SAT scores” but 3 years out of high school i was under the impression i was free of those monsters… any reassurance?
