I recently got accepted into one of the top 3 colleges in my country,
and while i'm happy i got in, i just have a feeling it might not really be a match for me.
(The school in the university i applied to has a very small class size)
I feel like the students there won't really be the kind of people I can fit in with,
and i'm uncertain if the liberal art classes there will really get me where i want.
This is all based on the school's mission statement/focus, which is to nurture global leaders, future research scientists, politicians, etcetc. I'm a kind of shy person and I suck at public speaking, and I don't have a brilliant scientific mind either. But i'm pretty sure i'll be surrounded by kids who are like that.

Sometimes I feel like I tricked the admissions officers with this image of me I created in my essays, NOT to say they're dumb or anything, but i'm pretty sure there is some limit to knowing a person solely through an application. I don't know, my mom keeps telling me "if they accepted you, you have something they want", but does that guarantee I will be happy there?

Oh and yes, the reason I applied to this school in the first place was because of my parents. And I must say that writing essays to this school was easier than the rest, probably because my open-mindedness from moving to many countries and schools worked in favor of me for the school's specific focus. These days, this school has bumped up to be almost my first choice (thinking realistically ) because
1)it's a LOT cheaper than any US school (about 20 000/year?),
and ppl always say that first year of undergraduate education doesn't differ much from school to school; it's the last 2 years that count.
2)i'm thinking of having my career in the US but before that, a few more years in my country would be nice..
3)it has a name. would it be easy to transfer to an ivy from there?
