Have you ever taken an easier SAT?

In March, I found the SAT very challenging. Though I managed to get in the 1400 region, I still wasn't satisfied with my score.

Today's test, however, I thought was unbelievably easy. I was pretty convinced that I had most, if not all, of the questions answered correctly.

I don't know if it was the test that was extremely easy or the fact that I actually prepared this time around that made the exam a bit more comprehensible?

What are your thoughts?

I believe sometimes CB just gives us, the poor students, some chance....just as it was for Jan SAT (vocab was uberly easy!).......lol!

asifkhan, what do you mean by poor? lol. I don't really undertsand what you're trying to say, but do you think the June SAT sitting will be about as easy? God, I do hope so. :(

Rosh420,

My thoughts may not be the most representative, since I prepare the students for the SAT for a living. On the whole, I found the Sentence Completions in CR unremarkable and easy (for the competent student) for the most part. There were two or three Passage-Based Reading questions that were a little tricky (especially the "benign monster" question). Looking at the Writing and Math questions from the perspective of an average student, I can see how some questions, particularly in Math, could have stumped or challenged some students.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I have generally found that students who come back reporting that the test was incredibly "easy" or that they did "awesome" usually do NOT do as well as they thought (since they got cocky/careless). I'm not saying that the same will occur to you, but I would advise moderating your enthusiasm a bit until the scores are released.

Poor-------as in exhausted and tired students! I hope all the upcoming SATS from the next 3 years will be easy! (lol!) but definitely, I’d take care abt studying for my next SAT (which I didn’t do in my first SAT and paid for that :() no matter how much I expect it to be easy!

Godot, I had to cancel my scores because I messed up on a section. :( So, unfortunately, I'll never get to know how I did. But I wouldn't say a test was easy if I wasn't 100% sure. I am pretty confident I did well, and based on the answers shared on this site, it seems apparent that I did.

But I do agree with you. I just expected a bit more of a challenge, particularly on the CR Vocab. I am just disappointed that I have possibly missed my opportunity to get a 750+ on both the CR and Writing. :(

Rosh420, y did u cancel ur scores? Cant u CHOOSE let to send that score to the colleges so they wont kno what u got? Also, that brings me to the question of whether u can select the best score u get on each section if let say u take the test three times and send the scores for each section separately to each college so they dont see ur bad scores? also, do colleges kno how many times u take teh SAT and what scores u got on every attempt at them?

wiat you MANAGED a 1400 out of 2400?! thats awful- where are you going? western montana state at blufton?

^^^ lay off the weed bro. he would not be proud of 1400 unless it was out of 1600.

think about it

Maybe you were just more familiar with the test.

I found the critical reading and writing sections to be a lot easier, but the math was much trickier.

@ Easton722

But he said he took it in March...I'm confused.

Easton722. lol. Good advice. I obviously wouldn't pleased with a 1400/2400 smcnair21. And even if I did get a 1400/2400 telling me it's "awful" is particularly "nice."

For further clarifications I got a 1430/1600.

710 Math
720 Reading

It seemed a little easier than the practice I've been doing in Barrons. This is the first time I've taken it though so I can't really compare.

I thought CR/writing was easy for the most part today. On the other hand, I thought math was a bit difficult.

It's funny, since I'm normally a much stronger student in math and the sciences than English. But every time I take a PSAT/SAT, I own the English sections, but do just average on the math.

The test wasn't easy, it was a tricky kind of test. A lot of easy mistakes and confusing wording of the questions. It makes you feel really confident only to realize later that you missed like 4 u shouldn't have

Polkahard, I also thought the Math was unusually challenging today. Normally I score between 700-750, but I felt as if my scores would have been in the 600s today had I not canceled my scores.

Tyler, I certainly agree with your sentiments. It was quite easy but a bit confusing at the same time.

Math was a headache, PSAT math was much easier and I still sucked at that.

heyy does anyone think it's dumb to take one SAT right after the other? For example: Me taking the June 2nd SAT right behind the May 5th?

the test is easier than the january one, definitely..
almost every questions in MC follow the same format of bluebook, and I just found it weird that the CB just changed one word of it to present it to us.

Nothing hard in CR section just a few things

Definitely too easy questions in math(my school math examination kills me(i've got 7questions wrong out of 13 questions...lol..) but this SAT math is too easy), I just finished them off in 10 minutes, and had some rest..

but, I think I just screwed up in writing section,, so,, I an unhappy,..because there will be harsh curve for this time....OMG...please be lenient with the curve...

i thought this was easier than the PSAT.

Considering i didnt study for the PSAT at all :)

But yeah, not hard at all (2250+ PLEEEEASE)

this test was, by far, the easiest SAT I've ever taken.
