Fallen so in love with a school that you can't even stop to think about other schools and what you should be doing in the probable event you don't get into afformentioned school?

ahhhhh.

ahhhhh.

Yup. But a rejection to a summer program associated with the school brought me back to reality and I became more level headed. I still love the school, but I won't be as devastated if I'm rejected since I've learned to love some of my other top schools.

Yeah, I have no backup plan either, but top 10% rule in Texas guarantees me a place in that college.

No.
For the record falling in love with a school sounds pretty hilarious lol

btw, i'm curious to the OP (and others but especially op) : What is your top school?

Yes.

I've dreamt of this school since the first week of my sophomore year. In my freshman year, I had a 3.34 GPA. Now, at the conclusion of my sophomore year, I should have around a 3.8 I probably won't get in to my dream school, but I can at least keep on trying. As long as I have the possibility of going there, I have no reason to give up.

invoyable- its rice university

I fell in love with West Point when I did my first round of college visiting before 9th grade.

Well:

My freshman grades were horrible

Didn't become captain of a varsity team

Can't do 8 pull-ups

Found ROTC is a much easier way to become a second lieutenant

Forgot to contact my senators

I guess I'll shoot for University of Florida or some decent out of state school.

Well, it's pretty easy to fall in love with Rice. Have you visited? Beautiful campus.....

Never really fell in love with UF, because the dorms are like purgatory. Then again, my parents own land 12 miles away from campus; all I have to do is set up a mobile home and utilities and I'm all set.

Plus, how can I not be a Gator? :p

haven't visited, but seen pictures and read up on it. It seems like the perfect school for me! Just have to work my a off and pull up my 3.7 uw from sophomore year

liist, being in florida, UF is one my list if i don't get into my top choices. but the size of that school and the number of students...its daunting

^ I agree. That's one huge thing I'm worried about UF. I wouldn't be too excited to go there because of the size but there's a huge possibility that I'll be there anyway.

yup, with berkeley. it was more like an obsession. luckily i got in, or else i would've felt like an idiot.

Lemme guess, you have your mind set on one school (aka Rice, you say).

My advice is to apply ED if you are really sure. Try to emphasize your interest with the school. If you are rejected/deferred, you have time to move on and focus on your other applications.

I had my heart set on a school and applied to ED, and I was deferred. This dampered my spirits somewhat, given the ambiguity of the results. However it gave me a reality check, and after I was rejected I was able to focus on some other schools. So no matter the situation, you will always find a resolution. Good luck!

thanks! my school is really small and doesn't send alot of students to top schools so whenever someone dares to apply to a great school, my guidance counselor blabs all over campus as a way to motivate the other students. haha its..almost comical but so embarrasing if you don't get in
