Have you gotten your AP summer work yet?

I have to get my AP English Lang & Comp assignment tomorrow after school, and then my AP World assignment on Thursday, and then the AP Environmental assignment on Friday.

...I am oddly excited.

If so, is it quite a lot?

No summer assignments for me  I don’t know if this is a good thing or not.

Yeah for AP Chemistry, I have to get that tomorrow. AP Biology I don’t think has any summer work in my school. For AP Chemistry I think It’s Chapter 1: Matter and Measurements and Chapter 2) Atoms, Molecules and Ions. I have to get the AP Chemistry book and packet…

I got mine 2 weeks ago (school ends Thursday). I’m taking AP Bio, Lit, Gov, and Econ. I only have summer work for lit. We have to read Jane Eyre, answer 55 questions, and memorize and give examples vocabulary words. We have a 300 point test when we get back. The summer work is worth 400 points.

I’m a rising Junior. But I doubt that explains my excitement. I’m led to believe that perhaps my lack of a grip on sanity is more so the reason as to why the idea of summer work makes me so gosh darn happy.

Only have AP English 4 assignment, but it’s going to suck. Have to read Catch-22 and Crime and punishment and write an essay on one and do two reading journals. The point of this over the summer is…?

@1Rachel94 I love Jane Eyre, It’s a really good book. Hard to get through at sometimes, but it’s a good mind twister.

Haha i’m taking 5 AP classes next year as a rising senior. Looks like I’ll be putting the ■■■■■ face on right now, cuz I got none :)

I hope I’m not the only one to get summer work. Last year I heard that in AP Chemistry that no one stopped by and got their work, so everyone’s first grade for the year was a F on a 50 point assignment.

@Rusty84 I wish I went to your school… :(

No summer work, either.

Wow you guys are so lucky if you don’t have summer work!
For AP Lit, I have to read 2 books and write a paper.
For AP Physics, read chapter 1 and answer a bunch of questions.
I have to read a book for religion (catholic school -_-)
And I think I am getting work for AP Calc.
And this is the summer before senior year… ):

AP French- I have to make 500 flashcards and have a PowerPoint presentation by first day of school, and I have to sometime during the summer write a letter in French explaining how my summer is going to my French teacher.

AP lit- read how to read literature like a professor.

:o

I’d actually prefer some summer work, because then it just makes the year more stressful trying to cover a lot of material.

None of my classes at school give summer work, but I created a whole bunch of it on my own from online stuff. And I bought a lot of classics, since I don’t get around to reading much.

We usually get 10 to 20 hours of summer work for each AP class. For APUSH, we have about 300 to 400 study questions, read 3 chapters, and write two essays. For AB Calc, we have about ~150 problems reviewing Precalculus/Algebra material. For Biology, we have to complete the first 5 chapters and their study questions.

Update: I stopped by the AP Chemistry teacher today, and she said that there won’t be any summer assignments because they’re not allowed to anymore. YAY!!! But she still told me that she’ll give me an AP Chemistry book and told me to just go over the Honors Chemistry curriculum…

@FantasyVesperia - Good luck in AP Chem! From my experience, it wasn’t that difficult of a class (yet still hard to get an A) but the test was very hard, in my opinion. It all depends on how your teacher prepares you for it.

Eng Hon II: To Kill a Mockingbird- 30 questions that must be answered about it with one paragraph each.

AP Euro: Sohpie’s World- essay about it, analysis of 10 current european events, memorizing a map of europe.

Chem Hon: None

And I’m taking Alg II over the summer so I can take precalc hon sophomore year. I don’t think there’s any precalc hw.

^ I’m going to skip Algebra 2 over the summer too!

I’m a rising sophmore by the way.

Got both my AP World and AP Bio (there’s so much for that class) today, and I don’t think AP language has any summer work

:)

No summer work in any of my 3 AP classes. And two of those aren’t even particularly easy: AP Physics C and AP Calc BC.
AP Econ on the other hand… XD
