Have you guys been getting signs that you'll get IN to Cornell (or rejected?)

im pretty sure all this is is a way to check how long it would take for a package to travel from one place to the other via express mail. im pretty sure theyre not talking about ACTUAL packages theyre sending, but how long a package would take to arrive in the hypothetical situation that they send one.

No, look. It is called Express Mail COMMITMENTS. which means that a certain entity has committed to mailing a certain parcel on that date to a certain location. does anyone know what two means??

Next Day by 12:00 PM 5:30 PM POST OFFICE 757 WARREN RD
ITHACA, NY 14850
Next Day by 12:00 PM 3:30 PM POST OFFICE CORNELL UNIVERSITY TOWER RD KENNEDY HALL
ITHACA, NY 14853

Are these what you are getting?????

Ya, i got that

Jae, what college did you apply to?

<a href="http://www.cayugaswaiters.com/new/downloads/mp3/harvard.mp3%5B/url%5D">http://www.cayugaswaiters.com/new/downloads/mp3/harvard.mp3</a></p>

No you guys are retarded - I can't believe Cornell is a reach for me.

USPS is showing when packages are delivered not that these are your packages. The two commitments are that if you dropped off a letter from Ithaca at 3:30 pm on the 13th, it would arrive by 5:30 on the 14th. C'est tout.

Yeah, I really don't think it means anything. I did a search for the 14th, and then 15th, and then 13th, 11th, 20th, etc. - they're probably just admission brochures or something, and yeah, there were two things.

To clarify, the commitments are that USPS will deliver a package from one time to the next. That is their commitment.

It would be illegal to publicly display mail information. Now if you had an account and logged on, maybe you could check the status of your amazon package or what-not. But USPS is not going to show all the packages that are being delivered from one area code to another.

OK, to disprove your refute; If it is just showing how long it would take to get from one location to another, and all you are giving is a zipcode, why would Only the two Cornell Locations show up. They can publicly display commitments because all they give is a zipcode, not an address.

nvm... i just figured it out. haha

yeah i guess youre right actually.

hmm but it still seems weird...

cuz when i put the zipcode for ithaca and put 16th as the date as an accident,, but then instead of getting those 2 addresses, i got an address from Los Angeles and NOT from ithaca even though i put ithaca's zipcode....

which means that there is a package coming from ithaca on the 14th....

i mean, why would the site randomly post up an address from LA when I typed in ithaca's zipcode when i merely changed the date?

weird eh?

o and I applied ED to CAS u??

never mind.. i'm just not gonna trust that site lol

hahaha something similar happened the other day in the columbia forum i guess...and it is so ridiculous how nervous and paranoid we all get around this time! do the admissions people realize this is what they're doing to us?!

aww man i was getting excited! even though i know like 5 other people in this area applying ed

The zip code committment is not a sign. First of all, Cornell doesn't send a package for ED, just a skinny letter asking for a deposit. There goes the thick letter/thin letter theory. So don't freak out if the envelope is thin, but by the time you get the letter, you will have already found out on line. The big package comes in the spring when RD goes out. At least that's how it worked last year.

Good luck!

My hotel school alumni interviewer talked about how he first didn't get accepted to Cornell as an undergraduate but as a transfer...HUGE OBVIOUS FAT SIGN in the face.....want to eat a burrito, with extra cheese, and with an enchilada...T-T

dream last night lol

wow i was so excited about the zip code thing...i really need to divert this paranoia lol

wow. funny what this does to people...you guys are so hyped up you were willing to believe the USPS is psychic and knows about the letter they'll be sending you 4 days before Cornell would even ship it.
