have you guys got books yet?

It's best to get books after you've attended the first class right? I'm afraid of buying anything early because professors might change things around after the first week...

I want to buy/reserve books in advance, but I'm not sure if I should. It's driving me insane. I can't figure things out because I'm not familiar with UCI =(. Noone to bug because everyone is going Davis from norcal!

Exactly! Having the same issues.

I'm think I'll just wait until I move down there before I buy any books.

If you're buying books from the UCI Bookstore, I think you can afford to wait until next week if you want to hold off buying books. If you're buying them online, I would watch the shipping length to make sure you get them by the time instruction starts (9/22).

do we really need them the first week of school (instruction)?

yeah cant we just buy them when class starts? why do we need them early for

damn -__- I just ordered them yesterday, since the UCI Bookstore reservation period ended yesterday. I just assumed I'd be using all my books hahah

Seldom do you need your books the first day unless you are in a language class.

The reason to buy books early through a reservation service is to avoid waiting in line for hours, and hopefully be able to find some used books that cost less. Your books are boxed up and ready for you thereby saving you time and frustration. College bookstores are notorious for having insanely long lines, and used books definatley save you some money. Be prepared books are expensive. Once school starts if you find you don't need a book for whatever reason there is a short period of time in which you can return the books without penalty.
