People in Indiana know about Taylor. Have you visited? Do you like it? Two students from the school I teach at visited Taylor last year. While they liked the school, they thought the rules were too strict and opted not to apply. One is happily attending Hope in Michigan (similar atmosphere, less rules) and the other is at Depauw. It really depends on you. If you love Taylor and don't mind the lack of name recognition, go there. On the flip side of life, my D goes to a top ten LAC which virtually no one on our area has heard of. In fact, people were astounded when she turned down Notre Dame and choose her LAC. They thought she was crazy to go to a "no name" (in their opinion) school. It's all a matter of perception! She is extremely happy at her school. The bottom line is that you should choose a school based not on what others think but based on where your heart tells you to go.

I hire for our financial services firm and am very familiar with Taylor. In the midwest, it is fairly well known, but probably not elsewhere. One of our better young hires came out of Taylor with a business degree - and has a very strong concept of business ethics (needed these days and sorely lacking from some of the other more well known LACs).

I'm from maryland and i have 2 friends (sisters) who go there...it has a very conservative evangelical Christian reputation fo rthe few people around here who know about it.

Ranked #3 according to what ranking? This is why all rankings, including US News, should be questioned.
