Have you known anyone that has wanted to transfer out of Cornell badly?

I was just curious because I have known some individuals who attended Cornell and has either transferred out or is in the process of transfering because they dont like it there. Is this a common phenomenon because talking to them kind of makes me waiver in my decision on whether to attend. They seem to really dislike it to a large degree

any help/suggestions?

cornell has a 96% retention rate, so most people do stay. some schools just aren’t fits for certain people and there’s nothing wrong with that. i’d take a look at the “why i love cornell” and “things i hate about cornell” threads to get a better feel. if you can, i suggest visiting and staying overnight and sitting in on a class or 2 to get a better feel for what it’s like to be a student

Typically these are the people who never wanted to attend Cornell in the first place, or who attended Cornell for all the wrong reasons.

No matter where you go, there will be students who want to transfer out. Just because the school wasn’t the right fit for them doesn’t mean it won’t be the right fit for you.

yeah i agree. all of the kids i know who transferred did so bc they just never wanted to come to cornell.

i knew someone who did well academically at cornell but transferred to uPENN b/c ithaca was too boring for his tastes…

city life ftw

others will seem like they hate cornell and want to go somewhere else, but sometimes we dont know what we want…and we might need a leave from college altogether!

bball. Whatever happened to that guy?

One of my favorite stories was the kid I knew who transferred from Cornell to Dartmouth… and then back to Cornell again.

The grass is always greener.
