Hey about the nomination apps? Does it matter if you apply for nomination online or do they specifically look at the ones that are written in hand first? Because I was thinking about filling out the nomination apps online for senators, but actually do in hand and get the apps for congressman.

the specifically look at the ones that are turned in first first :)
I mailed the senators their apps but came to the congresswoman's office in person because it was close.
remember that this is really the only subjective, organic part of applying to USMA, so making a good impression matters.

Sending in Nomination applications:
Follow the instructions for each office - you may find they are very different.

Since official transcripts are required, my daughter's school's policy is that they must be sent directly from the guidance office. Each of her entire nomination packets were put together and sent directly from the guidance office.

Get them in before the deadline but do a good job in getting them in. In otherwords don't write a crappy essay because you want to be the first application in the door. They are looking for quality- not arrival date.

In our area a competitive method is used, and it is based soley on the nomination packet submitted (no interviews) and feedback from the academy (a good reason to get your WP application completed early).
While my son completed his nomination packets early. I don't believe the nomination committee looked at them until after the deadline in October. All of the applications were paper based, although they were available for download online (print them off, fill them out and mail them back).

Yes and i'm meeting Ginny again on April 10th I believe!

When and to whom do i send the service-connected nomination form (the generic form that requests the actual application form)? On the letter it says "Director of Admissions", but with no address. I am applying for a JROTC nomination and my SAI wanted the forms so he could go ahead and fill them out. Thanks in advance!

Army Junior and Senior ROTC programs and Honor ROTC units of other services
Applicants enrolled in a Junior or Senior Army Reserve Officer Training Corps programs are eligible for a nomination in this category. Application should be made through the Professor of Military Science or the Senior Instructor to the Director of Admissions, U.S. Military Academy. Your senior instructor must fill out and submit a Request for ROTC Nomination (Form 5-497) to USMA and a USMA Admissions Interview Report (USMA Form 21-8) to be considered for a nomination. Applicants enrolled in JROTC programs of another branch of service are eligible only if that school has been designated as an Honor Unit with Distinction.
