Have you met someone from CC at your college and became friends?

Have you met someone from CC at your college and became friends?

No, but I met someone from CC, we became friends, and now she might be going to my college. (Depending on where she gets in RD.)

I wouldn't recommend it.

I met a girl from an online dating site once. It was the most awkward experience of my life. Friends: How did you guys meet?
Me:ahhh, um...I...

Learn how to meet people in real life. It's as important as any other skill you learn in college.

I don't think I'd ever admit to anyone offline that I even use CC.

^ same here lol

Yeah, it's even worse when you start dating someone you met on College Confidential.

Me: Guess what, I have a boyfriend!
Friends: How'd you meet him?
Me: College Confidential. He stalked my posts for a while, then made a Facebook group about how my stats were really depressing. I found it through the search function, he messaged me, and we hit it off right away.
Me: No seriously, he's really, really cool.

you failed at step number one of internet dating: always have a backup story. we met in a coffee shop, at a club, at a museum, at a concert, whatever. it's not that hard.

also, to answer the original question, i hella doubt that more than three people at my college know this place even exists.

I would not admit I use CC either lol

Haha. Exactly.

Actually, the times I've met a guy online, I only used a backup story for my family and, like, two other people.

Though I don't reccomend internet dating... D: It has never worked for me or anyone I know... and the last few (er... and current) guy I've dated have been creepers. >.> Then it makes it really difficult to break up with them 'cause after three days of dating they decide they love you and want to spend the rest of their life with you... D:

ANYWAY.

No. I have never met someone from CC and become friends. xD I haven't been here that long.

Once someone saw me on CC and I even used a backup story for why I was on the site.

I have one friend I met on CC. A few other kids at my school I know in real life I talked to on CC first. It's always fun when someone introduces you to their other friends saying "we met in an online college forum" even though he's joking.

Quite a few actually. Though we met via CC first, then facebook, then finally at school.

PlattsburghLoser et al: What's the "stigma" regarding CC? Just curious.

Something along the lines of ``it's frequented by people who have OCD and are freaking out about getting into college''.

Anywho, I rarely encounter people who are CC members, though there are quite a few people who know of the site from Google searches, etc. I think that posting on an online forum is considered a little too nerdy for most people.

I've met 4 people from CC at my school, and I'm pretty good friends with 2 of them.

I think I met two people that are on CC. Neither of which I met through CC (I found out they were members after the fact).

Actually, yes I have.

HAHAHAh, me and waverian = win.

:P Luv ya Garret.

But anyways, actually....quite a few. Over a dozen
have turned into real life friendships through meeting
in same college, vacation visits, etc. You meet the
most fascinating and intelligent people on this site. :D

NOpeee, never done that. There are a few kids from my HS that use it though, I mess with them sometimes, its kinda entertaining

I would never admit to using CC. I was actually a pretty well known poster here, and then I realized that because I go to such a small LAC I could tell who certain CC posters were so I got a new account and pretty much stopped posting.
