Have you started?

ohhh, college apps... haven't started. i still need to visit some schools. yeah, i know, i'm a bit behind :D

my parents r yelling at me to start ><

I actually started last night, filling out the easy stuff (no essays) but I was proud of myself haha

same ^....lol feels like im actually doing something

Those of you who started the applications are you doing the paper application or online?

I thought I read somewhere on the site that they don't want you to print it out and mail it to the college? I am very confused about that haha. Which one looks better? I am only filling this application out for 1 freaking college too...

i've been told that schools with their own applications would rather you use that than the common app even though they accept both. does anyone know if this is true?

I've heard the same thing... I'd say that's true though. If you fill out the common app, you are probably going to send it to more than one school, so it might make you seem lazy because you are only doing 1 app, rather than for each school. I'd just do them individually, just to be safe.

I just wrote a short answer essay for the Stanford supplement.
The funny part is that I have a very important exam tomorrow but I prefer writing college essays to studying French. ;)

where did you find the Stanford supplement?
I've been looking for it

ok i dont know what to do.. im going to apply to columbia but they aren't on the common app so should i do their online app or hard copy? same with any school that isnt on common app should i just do it all online?

starting on my common app essay now. Halfway done, but of course it'll be going through weeks of editing.

I read a bunch of essays from people who got into good schools, but those just show how far I still need to go.

I started the UC Application. The application version was last year's and my language arts teacher assigned it. If there would have been time, she would have told the class to start writing personal statements.

crosscurrent, the Stanford Supplement isn't available yet but they published their essay topics: <a href="http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/applying/1_2e2_essay.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/applying/1_2e2_essay.html</a></p>

When do the University of California online applications come out? Anyone know where to find it?

DolceFarNiente, I am also applying to Columbia their class of 2008 app comes out Aug. 1, but they have last year's app on their site. It is always the same (essay-wise) so 2008 applicants can begin writing their essays.

Oh sorry I thought you were asking about essays...The online app and hard copy app will be available on Aug. 1, so I am waiting until then and will apply onine to make the process easier...
