i wonder how many people have taken SAT prep courses, classes or sessions or tutoring since u all have really nice scores on here.
i dont mean to downplay anyone's success, i just want to see if it really helped. u dont have to post ur score, just if u took anything (not including independent studying from books).

i didn't get to take prep (it got cancelled a month before the exam, so weird) but i did alright

No. I even posted a thread about how I thrive on the SAT without any preparation (e.g. I was at a Halloween party the night before the Nov. 1 test until 1:30). Relaxation is key.

^ oh, and by no prep, I mean I didn't even crack open an SAT book by myself either. When I say zero prep, I mean zero prep haha

hookem nd em yall realll kidddd!! Thatz wat im talking about. i bought a barrons book the month before my last sat
the 1st time i took the sat i had normal conditions,
the second time i was exhausted cuz i spent all night on the phone with my bf tryin to convince him not to break up w/ me,
and this last time (nov) i skipped school the day before to "relax" myself. i forced myself not to take the oct sat because i had to cheer at a football game tha night before

if you're a self-disciplined person than all you need is a good book like the official guide or barrons but if like having someone teach you techniques and such then go for the course.
i took one and it really helped but I dont think its necessary if you start studying from a book like two months earlier.

I think SAT courses are helpful if you are scoring below 1900 because they can teach you tricks and techniques as well as the actual material (esp. in math).

If you start around 1900+, just get tons of practice tests and do them. Because by then, you already know alot and just need to practice. Besides, you pretty much already know everything (especially if you are at 2000+ initially)

I started in the 2000s and just took practice tests and improved 200-300 points.
