Haven't Chosen!!!!!!

So, I'm going up to berkeley and santa cruz in 4 days to visit the schools-late, I know.
It's so bad. I've been to all the other schools I got into but I still havent' been to those after bein in cali for awhile!

Do people end up SIR'ing late? not past the deadline late, but.....dangerously late? lol

last year i SIR’d June 1st…to UCLA…

i wasn’t sure if i was gonna go there or Santa Barbara…

i plan on SIRing on June 1st as well.

i like the sense of freedom…that i don’t have to choose till a certain date. its like a false sense of freedom… but i dig that.

The longer you wait, the worse your orientation date is gonna be. Make a decision!

but i cant!!!

:(

I go to Santa Cruz. Go to Berkeley, its the wise decision.

I’m going to SIR early next week to make sure there’s no snags, but I’m waiting around as well…

@ Cali trumpet-Are you having a not good time @ santa cruz!? :frowning: It looks absolutely friggin gorgeous in pics but then again every place is diff in person!? haha

Haha, its a fine place with a lot of opportunities. It really depends on YOU and what you are looking for in college. The atmosphere is definitely hippie-ish, but you can avoid it almost completely by choosing your friends wisely. I know that I can’t speak for everyone, because there are certainly some very smart people here who stay and graduate happily, but most of the driven students that I know personally are transferring out this year to better places (USC, UCB, UCLA, UNC to name several).

But hey, if you have visited the school and love it, then go with it. If you are motivated to succeed, you will.

I wondering this today as well. I plan on SIR may 1 or 2 days before June 1st. I don’t blame any of you for waiting. This is one of the biggest decisions we’ll ever make (sorry, more pressure for us). It will define who we meet, who we will become, and our future goals. Good luck visiting the schools. I took a bunch of pictures of my visit to UCB last week. I can post them for you if you’d like.

rahrah203 are you leaning more towards Cal? or SD?

janethed0e,

I like how you said you like the freedom of not having to choose until June 1st. lol  Isn’t freedom being able to chose when you want to SIR? :P

@Janethedoe: Last week i was leaning toward Cal. This week I am leaning toward UCSD. ahhhhhh

I’m still deciding too…
I will SIR on May 31 at the very latest. I don’t want to wait until June 1 just in case something goes horribly wrong. D:

UCSC has, without a doubt, the most gorgeous UC campus and town.

UCSC definitely has one of the most beautiful campuses. The town? eh, it’s alright. It’s not a place where I would like to live after college.
